Verb be
I am = I was
You are = You were
He/She/It is = He/She/It was
They are = They were
We are = We were
Regular verbs
- ED
Visit = Visited
Open = Opened
Start = Started
Jump = Jumped
Irregular verbs
have no pattern
give → gave
feel → felt
Using to be + Past (invert)
Was I at the party yesterday?
Were you sick yesterday?
The other way to make questions would be using Did (Do + past):
Did you like the trip?
Did you enjoy the movie?
Did your friends visit you this weekend?
When we use did to ask questions the next verbs don't need to be in the past form:
Did he look out the window in the morning?
He looked out the window in the morning.
