Talk more about the subject with follow-up questions (why, where, when? how?)
>> It’s also a pronunciation trouble-shooting class. As most students tend to pronounce these words with a Brazilian stress and accent.
Before starting the class, ask these questions:
- Do you enjoy spending or saving money?
- Do you often lend money to friends or family? Do you ever borrow it?
- Do you feel safe carrying lots of cash with you?
- What would you do if you found 100 euros or dollars in the street?
- Do you enjoy haggling when you go to the market?
- Do you prefer paying in cash or with a card? Or do you pay another way?
- Which payment method will be most popular in 50 years’ time?
- Do you think there will be a single global currency one day?
- What do you think about cryptocurrencies? Are they the future?
- When people say “money doesn’t grow on trees”, what do they mean?
